About The Cattery

I have been looking after pets my whole life. Cats are my passion and I would love to take care of your pet while you’re away, I always provide a nurturing and safe environment.

Having volunteered for over twelve years with a national cat rescue organisation, I have undertaken many courses in cat care, plus I have four happy cats of my own, so I am well qualified to look after your cat.

All the cats are looked after personally by me, with a little help from my two adult daughters. The Kettering based cattery has a 5* licence issued by NNC, number 19/00520/AWBC and insurance is provided by Cliverton, details of which are on display at our cattery.

Our Service

Sleeping Kitten

Daily Routine

Responsible & Reliable

Each cat is visited first thing in the morning to provide fresh water and food. Each pen is then spot cleaned, swept, litter trays disinfected and refreshed.

Frequent checks are made during the day to ensure all is well, with lots of time for cuddles and play, treating each cat as if they were our own.

Mealtimes are normally twice a day, with their usual brand of food. This will be discussed with you on booking, as each cat has individual preferences.

A final check is made late in the evening, before lights out.

At the end of your pet's stay with us, the pen is deep cleaned from top to bottom to ensure a clean and safe environment for the next feline guest.

5 star luxury for my two boys.  I cannot recommend Precious Paws and Michele's care highly enough.  My two came home happy and relaxed, thank you Michele.

My girls were here for a week.  I'm a very anxious, over-protective cat-mom, so I was quite worried about leaving them anywhere, after a previous cattery experience elsewhere was bad, but leaving them here has been very good.

The cattery is spotless.  Michele is lovely with them and they were spoilt rotten, like they were her own, with lots of snuggly blankets, beds, toys etc.  One of my girls is very nervous with strangers, but allowed cuddles (very rare for her even though she's 10!)  Got lovely updates, which reassured me a lot, while I was away, and allowed me to relax and enjoy my holiday.

Definitely recommend this cattery and will be trusting Michele to care for my girls again.

Michele is wonderful and so caring and dedicated towards the cats.... You can tell she is a cat lover.  This is a lovely cattery and I would fully recommend it.  Many thanks for looking after Jacko so well. You went above and beyond.  Thank you so much.

Heather Anne Richardson

Highly recommend. Really friendly.  My cat was so well looked after. I couldn't have asked for a better place for him to go whilst we were on holiday. A big 5 stars thank you, Michele.

My cat, Jinxsie, had a wonderful stay at this lovely cattery.  Michele was very attentive and looked after Jinxsie brilliantly. I shall be booking again in the near future.  It is not always easy to leave your cat but I had no qualms whatsoever about leaving my furbaby at Precious Paws, with Michele and her family.  I could not have asked for better treatment, love and care.  Thank you guys.

Sue Jepson

Lovely, clean, friendly, safe environment for our little kitty.  The most relaxed she has ever been in a cattery.  I can't rate this cattery, and Michele, highly enough.  Thank you Michele.

(Guinness was under veterinary care on arrival - Michele)

Last week I left my much loved cat, Guinness, with Michele while my partner and I took a lovely break in Cyprus.  Michele texted me while we were away with regular updates on how he was.  Unfortunately, while we were away, he developed a kidney problem and sadly passed away.  Michele was remarkable, truly loving and caring throughout.  I cannot recommend her facilities highly enough.  Clean and welcoming for any cat.  So well looked after and I can never thank her enough for the love and care she showed.

(The word 'cat' is to be read as singular or plural)

Health, dietary or behavioural problems - must be declared at time of booking.

Medication - Any medication to be administered to the cat during the stay must be provided by the cat owner and may incur an extra charge per day, depending on the requirements. Please discuss this at time of booking.  Medication will only be administered to manageable cats. Should there be a risk of injury to the cattery staff or the cat itself while medicating, it may be necessary for the cat to be seen by a veterinary surgeon. In this case veterinary fees would payable by the cat owner.

The cat owner is made aware that no veterinary insurance cover is provided by the cattery.

Vaccinations- A valid vaccination record must be presented prior to a cat boarding.  Vaccinations are required for infectious feline enteritis, feline respiratory disease, Felv and any other relevant diseases. Vaccinations must have been completed at least 4 weeks before the first day of boarding.  A shorter time is only accepted for booster vaccinations or where suitable veterinary evidence is provided.

Cat owners should satisfy themselves that this condition can met before placing a booking as, without valid vaccination evidence cats cannot be admitted to board and resulting cancellations will be subject to the cancellation terms listed below.

Worm and flea treatment - cats must be treated for worms and fleas in advance of their stay.

Bookings - Any part of the day stayed at the cattery counts as a whole day in terms of payments.  A booking will only be valid and a pen reserved where the booking has been acknowledged by the cattery and the deposit received. Subject to this condition the cattery will provide a booking confirmation at which point the pen will be reserved.

Cancellations - are required in writing, (email acceptable - preciouspawscattery@gmail.com). Any cancellations, or alterations to the length of stay booked, notified within 14 days of the start of the booking will result in the whole fee for the entire booking becoming due for payment. This required notice period is increased to 28 days in the peak months of April to October (inclusive), December and Easter. Cancellation is not final until acknowledged by the cattery in writing.

Where required the cattery can provide an invoice for any holiday insurance claim.

Deposits - there will be a non-refundable non-transferable deposit of £40 per cat (£60 per cat for any bookings including the days 25th December, 26th December and/or 1st January) payable on placing a booking, which will ensure that the pen space is reserved.  This will be applied to your final  invoice which will be payable either before or on arrival at the cattery.

Payments - can be either cash or card on arrival, or bank transfer beforehand.

Liability - Whilst every care will be taken, any personal items left with us are boarded and transported at the cat owner's risk. The cattery does not accept any liability for any loss, damage or injury to any person or belongings whilst using or visiting the cattery or parking area. Bedding, scratch posts and toys are provided.

Emergencies - In the event of an emergency at the cattery, contact will be made with the named emergency contact provided on the completed booking form. The emergency contact must be able to collect (or arrange care of) the cat in such an eventuality.  Their contact details will be shared with emergency staff/services as required.

If your cat becomes ill, they will be taken to the nominated veterinary practice. The attending vet has overall say in the treatment given, including euthanasia.

Your contract with us - These terms and conditions form the basis of our contract with you.  By placing a booking, making a payment or attending the cattery, acceptance of these conditions is implied. If, after making a booking, these conditions are not able to be met by the client, the cattery reserves the right to not admit the cat, in which case cancellation charges may apply.
